About Us

Writing has always been a passion of mine, but when I worked at Penguin it was the editing process and feedback to writers that caught my imagination. This inspired me to set up Cornerstones: if I can tell a writer in five minutes what might take them a year to find out, then I consider that a good thing.

I started off with five freelance editors and we now have over 60 consultants all chosen for their agent, publishing or writing experience. All are also trained in-house to ensure a consistency and quality of advice that is paramount to our service. On the team front to answer all your queries, there's me, Helen Corner, managing editor Kathryn Robinson, and assistant editor Ayisha Malik (and the office dog, Coda who's particularly good at collapsing boxes).

I've also co-written a book, Write a Blockbuster with Lee Weatherly, Hodder. This is all about how to self-edit and get published.
