Our reports are broken down into categories that cover important areas of an author’s work such as plot, characterisation, pacing, marketability and quality of writing. Categories will vary depending upon a specific manuscript’s needs and target audience.

Mini-Critiques
Mini-critiques offer a brief professional opinion of a work's potential based upon a chapter or two and a synopsis, and are ideal for writers who have not completed their manuscript but are looking for feedback on its potential.  (Please note that the mini-critique is a broad overview only, and is not broken down into specific categories).

General Reports
General Reports provide an overview of a manuscript where we will identify its strengths and weaknesses. It is assumed that the author has a good working knowledge of professional writing terms and concepts, such as plot structure and 'show not tell'.  This report is ideal for professional writers seeking a second opinion of their work or for writers who have been to us before.

In-Depth Reports
The In-Depth Report provides a comprehensive assessment of all aspects of a manuscript, with specific line references.  Professional writing terms and concepts are clearly explained, and authors are shown how these concepts apply to their own work.  As with the general report, a manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses are highlighted and suggestions for improvement offered, but in much greater detail.  This report is ideal for writers who have not yet been published or who have not had previous editorial feedback.

Non-Fiction Report
Non-Fiction requires specialist attention. Please contact us in the first instance.

Are you ready to Submit Pack
Your submissions letter, synopsis and first three chapters – or up to 50 pages - will be checked by a submissions consultant and you will receive a report on how to improve on what you have, if need be.  You will also receive a 25-page guide on how to approach agents/editors and craft a confident and stress-free submission.

Brainstorm your Novel Pack
A consultant will assess your synopsis and first 50 pages, and then in a one-on-one session we will discuss your ideas, from defining genre, market and structure through to how to submit to agents. The pack is designed to kick-start your writing and set you on the right path.

Plot Doctor
Even the best writer can get stuck with plot and character. A consultant will look at your detailed synopsis and character breakdown and brainstorm ideas and plot/emotional arcs to set you on your way. The cost involves a day of consultancy  time: reviewing material, a one and a half hour session with the consultant and a follow-up email.
