Paul Adshead, short listed for the Children's Book Award
Our workshops are tailor-made to you where your material will be used in class. They're fun, constructive and a vital part to shaping your self-edit skills. We're the only company in the UK to run self-edit workshops.
Cornerstones runs one-day and two-day overnight self-editing workshops covering the vital elements of commercial fiction (for writers of both adult and children's fiction). Tutors familiarise themselves with the author's work beforehand which is then used in class. It's a hands-on practical approach in understanding self-editing techniques. Workshops are held at Charney Manor, one of the oldest inhabited houses in Britain, situated in beautiful grounds near Oxford; and Working Partners, London.
The primary tutor is Lee Weatherly, award-winning author of Missing Abby, Child X, Breakfast at Sadie's, Kat Got yYour Tongue, and Glitterwings series. She has also edited extensively for Cornerstones and helped found Kids'Corner. A consultant for Cornerstones will also be present as well as specialist guest tutors who have experience in particular publishing fields.
Julie Cohen - award-winning author for Mills & Boon and Little Black Dress
Nicola Perry - Commissioning Editor for Working Partners
Julie Sykes - over 30 picture books for Little Tiger Press and Hodder
