If you have talent but your manuscript is unshaped, Cornerstones and Kids'Corner can assess your writing objectively and give you feedback on what's working and what isn't. We are primarily book doctors.
Our Reports aim to arm you with self-editing skills, the foundation of successful writing, which we believe can be taught. Over 60 editors work with us who are either professional writers or have worked in a literary agency or publishing house.
Our objective is to see a writer develop and reach their own best potential. We also scout for literary agencies such as Annette Green, Felicity Bryan, Celia Catchpole, Conville & Walsh, Greenhouse Literary Agency, Janklow & Nesbit, LAW, LBLA, Andrew Lownie, MBA, RCW, RLA, Caroline Sheldon, Toby Eady, United Agents, Eve White, WMA (and others) so are constantly looking for new talent. If your manuscript is sparkling and we feel we can place it we may consider it for submission. This is by invitation only.
Cornerstones and Kids'Corner Literary Consultancy has helped either shape or place with agents over 50 writers including the bestselling Troll Fell by Katherine Langrish (HarperCollins) and Sophie King's The School Run (Hodder).
All children's and adult fiction and non-fiction is welcome. Please phone or email in the first instance and refer to the How to Submit page for our guidelines on submitting manuscripts.
Although we work mainly on word of mouth through agent and publisher referrals, and we have a filtering system, we are always happy to talk things through so do give us a call or email.
We run workshops on how to self-edit and submit to the trade.
Please see our links page for helpful contacts.
